Air quality index values for zones monitored over the month of:
July 2024
The index corresponds to the average concentration of particle matter measured in micrograms / m3;
the lower the value, the better the air quality.

Environmental quality averaged over the period under review is acceptable to good, with average values below WHO standards (except for PM2.5 in Toulouse). The discrepancies between the urban center of Toulouse and the suburbs are due to significant road traffic-related pollution in the center of the metropolitan area. The detailed readings presented below show a homogeneous period over the month.
The averaged values presented take into account measurements from citizen sensors and official Atmo Occitanie sensors.
Detailed environment of the Toulouse region
Average PM 10 measurements (readings in micrograms / m3)
The average PM10 values recorded remain acceptable over the month, but show a slight increase in the northern and north-western parts of central Toulouse.
Measurements taken on the Toulouse ring road by official sensors (in blue circles) bear witness to this trend. The maximum value of 26 at Rangueil (compared with a value of 24 in June) testifies to heavy road traffic during this period.
Measurement points near the airport (Blagnac) show stability over the month compared with June.
The point at the extreme north-east (PM10 value 14) corresponds to the location of Toulouse’s second incinerator; the first incinerator is located to the south-west (FR500039), indicating an average concentration of 15.
Readings to the west of Toulouse and to the south-east show acceptable values comparable to the previous month.
The northern and eastern parts of Toulouse, where there are no sensors, cannot be properly assessed.
Special focus on Castanet-Tolosan
Average PM10 measurements
Average PM 2.5 measurements (readings in micrograms / m3
Citizen sensors can assess PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations at the same time, which is not the case for all official sensors. The distribution of PM2.5 concentrations is similar to last June.
